Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS / PGT-A) - Presentation in Georgia

On September 23, 2017, the National Laboratory of Genetics presented a pre-implantation genetic test "PGS" (hereinafter renamed and referred to as pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy - "PGT-A").

Leading reproductologists, gynecologists, embryologists and other specialists of all in-vitro clinics operating in Georgia were invited and attended the presentation.

Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) is an embryo genetic testing method that examines the number of chromosomes in an embryo and determines the sex of the embryo. Before the presentation, PGT-A testing was not possible to do in Georgia. An embrio biopsoes were sent abroad for the PGT-A testing.

We are proud to be creating a new facility in Georgia by conducting this test at the National Genetics Laboratory.  Genetic research, testing processes and activities at the National Laboratory of Genetics are subject to German quality control and attested by CE-IVD certification. This means the highest degree of credibility. The National Genetics Laboratory is the first and only laboratory in Georgia, which provides molecular diagnosis methods. As a leader in the field, we will continue to bring innovations and advance Georgia's medical field.
